Can you help McGrath raise more funds for our farmers?

With the Department of Primary Industries declaring almost 100 per cent of NSW in drought in their latest seasonal report, and forecasters predicting zero relief in the coming months, the situation for our farmers appears bleaker than ever.

More than purchasing equipment and tools, farmers are finding it increasingly difficult to feed their livestock, pay their bills, and buy basic necessities such as groceries and household items.

Organisations such as Aussie Helpers and Buy a Bale are doing their best to help those who are doing it tough, but with an increasing number of farmers requiring assistance, more financial support is vital.

Craig Chapman, Principal of McGrath Estate Agents Belconnen and Gungahlin, says that like all Australians, McGrath is feeling a deep concern for Australia’s farming families.

“Many of our McGrath family members are directly affected by this debilitating drought. So we are keen to make a timely and supportive contribution to our farming families.

“We started the donation campaign in September with the intent of raising in excess of $100,000. We have since met that target, and want to do more.”

Monies raised by McGrath will be donated to both Aussie Helpers and Buy a Bale.

“We chose two key charitable organisations that are on the ground with our farming families, and who will ensure the funds go where they are most needed.”

Both Aussie Helpers and Buy a Bale help farming families through donations of:

  • hay
  • groceries
  • fuel vouchers
  • pet food
  • feeding stock
  • liquid stock feed

They also provide emotional support, including gifts for children and days out for farmers’ wives. Aussie Helpers provides a psychologist free of charge 24/7.

Neither organisation receives any funding from the government. Their ability to provide support and services is solely due to the financial support they receive from our communities.
